Barbados – Rock Hard Cement, the distributor of quality cement in Barbados, has won a top advertising award in its first few months of existence.
The Caribbean Advertising Federation (CAF) released the winners of the organization’s American Advertising Awards (AAA), formerly known as the ADDY Awards. Rock Hard Cement’s new jingle scored one!
One of the judges Tony Pearman – CEO/CCO of ACCESS advertising and public relations in Roanoke, Virginia – said, “The work from the Caribbean is exceptional this year… the calibre and diversity of the work and high production value were of national calibre, especially in music and logo categories”.
The Rock Hard Cement jingle was one of those high calibre selections, competing with several regional brands and winning a Silver Addy for the “Music with Lyrics” section. Their entry was the only successful entry from a Barbados company, in that category.
The catchy song was produced by JJ Poulter and Brian Marshall of Shoestring Studios, sung by Barbados musician Ian “Eyan” Alleyne and conceptualised by Virgo Communications.
Mark Maloney, CEO of Rock Hard Cement said of the win, “We entered a market plagued with an expensive and inconsistent product, and Rock Hard Cement has made consistency and high quality a cornerstone of our business. I am happy to say this mantra has extended to our marketing materials and our business model.”
Having established itself in Barbados, Rock Hard Cement is expanding to the Trinidad and Eastern Caribbean markets of St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Grenada shortly.
